Writing

Year 3 have been working really hard on improving presentation and handwriting - this is really easy to practise at home.  Use joined, cursive handwriting, and remember your handwriting position top tips:

  1. Feet on the floor.
  2. Chair tucked in to support your back.
  3. Sit up straight, don't slouch or lean over your work.
  4. One hand on the page to steady it, slight angle if you need it.
  5. Pencil grip relaxed and pencil sharp.

We have been learning about a very grown up skill called editing.  We are trying to get into good habits of checking our work to find spelling, punctuation and grammar mistakes and correct them there and then.  We have practised this skill with a game called Sentence Doctor.  You can play this by clicking the picture.
